"Greetings master Sage" the manservant said with a pleased tone.
"You don't need to call me 'master' Matthew. After all you spent that week showing me how to prepare the Princess's tea". Sage grinned at the memory and there was a ghost of a smile that graced the Ex MI6 operative's mouth.
"Ide like to take the princess on a trip to Montreal. Alone. Do you think you could arrange that?" Sage asked staring at Matthew. The manservant paused, thinking for a minute before nodding.
Sage smiled in thanks before walking away "I do mean alone Matthew" the cheetah said over his shoulder. The loyal servant grinned, pulled out his phone and started to make arrangements.
Spencer was surprised when they pulled into the airport after the yacht trip. He was more surprised when Sage dragged him onto the Lockheart jet and it immediately took off. "Where are we going Furball?" He demanded with a casual smirk
"Somewhere that is your element Princess" the cat replied with a matching smirk. Spencer's eyebrows raised but before he could ask Sage. The cheetah held up his finger and pushed it gently across Spencer's mouth.
"Trust me, you'll like it" the cat said with a knowing grin.
Spencer chuckled, gently pushing Sage's hand away.
"I had better Furball, or l'll have Matthew make me a new fur jacket" spencer replied with a smirk as he sat down.
Sage grinned and sat opposite "no he won't, Matthew likes me to much".
The plane touched down and the pair awoke with a start. They had sat together part way through the flight, talking and must've drifted off to sleep. Sage blushed for a moment and yawned. Spencer yawned as well, pulling his head of the cat's shoulder.
Sage grinned "like your pillow there Princess?"
Spencer narrowed his eyes "it was too bony, kept moving all over the place and snored". Sage opened his mouth, ready to unleash his own complaints about the snoring from Spencer. But stopped short when he saw a twinkle in Spencer's gaze.
"Ok Princess want to see where your Prince has taken you to?"
Sage stood up and reached into a nearby bag and pulled out a pair of heavy jackets.
Spencer grinned as he spotted the jackets before slipping into one.
Sage opened up the door to reveal a snow covered city.
"Montreal" Spencer said grinning before Sage could speak.
"How did you?" Sage asked as he put his jacket on.
"Think you could hide the destination of my own plane Furball?" Spencer said with a smirk. Sage was silent as Spencer walked down the stairs "hurry up Furball".
Sage grinned and followed the bratty Princess.
The pair had spent the day wondering around Montreal. The plane arrived just before lunch, so the couple had lunch at a charming little cafe in the heart of the city. After lunch they proceeded to a nearby park, which had a frozen pond. Humans of all ages were ice skating across the surface. Spencer grinned and tugged Sage towards a stand which was hiring sets of skate out. Sage was surprised when Spencer went to the attendant and asked for a set. The attendant reached below and pulled out a bag bearing the Lockheart emblem and passed it over.
Spencer grinned as he came to the amused cat. "Matthew had everything planned it seems. Here" Spencer pulled out a pair of skates and passed them over.
"There your size" Spencer said with a chuckle. Sage rolled his eyes but put the skates on. He had done rollerblading before but it had been a while. Spencer easily put the skates on and got onto the ice with ease. Sage was a bit slower as he got into the ice to see Spencer grinning.
The "Ice Prince" was in his element as he skated with grace. The pond was separated into 3 sections. The outer section had little kids and slower skater. The middle had teens and adults racing around. The innermost circle was where his partner was dancing across the ice. Sage watched as Spencer glided across the frozen pond. His mouth agape as he watched Spencer leap up and spin. The Prince rotated three times before landing perfectly and skating backwards to scattered applause.
Spencer bowed before disappearing into the middle ring and then skated to where Sage was sitting.
"Coming furball?" He teased with a grin.
Sage nodded apprehensively and slowly got onto the ice. Spencer held out his arm "let me help".
Sage bristled, about to retort that he was doing fine. When he almost fell forward onto Spencer. Spencer quickly caught Sage's shoulder and held him upright. There was a smile on his face and Sage went pink from embarrassment.
"Small movements" Spencer said as he clasped Sages hands and slowly pulled Sage forward. Sage looked up and into Spencer's eyes. While there was mirth twinkling behind those clear lenses. Sage could see the care expressed in those ice blue eyes. He grinned and followed Spencer's guidance.
It took a bit to get used to skating on ice, but Sage was soon dashing around the pond, trying to catch the bratty prince.
After two hours of fun on the ice, their stomachs complained. Spencer chuckled as he heard Sage's gut and Sage laughed a moment later when Spencer's sounded.
They did a final slow lap, just holding hands before getting off the ice.
"No wonder your kicks always hit hard" Sage remarked as he pulled the skates off.
"They have to propel your butt high into the air".
Spencer winked "I did ice skating when I was younger, more nimble. I could do a penta spin at my best. Though I haven't been on the ice in ages."
Sage grinned as he picked up the bag. "Let's go get some food. I'm sure there's somewhere good for us to stuff ourselves". Spencer laughed "ill eat with dignity. Your the one who shovelled food down your gullet".
Sage let out a rich laugh and punched Spencer's arm then dashed off.
"Oh you'll pay for that Furball!" Spencer said as followed closely behind the racing cheetah. Sage led a merry chase, just keeping ahead of Spencer so that his tail was just out of the blond's grip. Spencer was panting but he wouldn't give up,
"I'm soooo turning you into a coat!" He growled as they ran onto a bridge. Spencer leapt forward, tackling the errant cat and bringing them both to ground.
Sage laughed "you worn out Princess?" He teased as he pushed himself up. Spencer glowered as he got up "you dirtied my jacket!" Sage grinned as he suddenly swooped down and kissed Spencer on the lips. Spencer was flummoxed as Sage broke the fleeting kiss. He blinked until he followed Sage's pointing finger.
"Mistletoe huh, you trying to take advantage of me Furball?" Sage grinned, about to reply when Spencer's hand shot out. It gripped Sage's black hair and pulled his face down to meet Spencer's lips. The lovers kissed hard and passionately. Spencer's hand drifted down to Sage's shoulder and they were oblivious to the world.
After a minute or an hour, Sage couldn't tell which. They finally broke apart.
Spencer's blue eyes gazing up into Sage's green orbs.
"I love you Princess".
"I love you Furball".
